Affiliate Disclosure

Inked and Faded is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What that means in practice

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer.

  • The price you pay is exactly the same either way. A commission is paid by the retailer out of their margin, not added to your bill.
  • A commission never changes a recommendation. Several articles on this site recommend the cheapest option on the shelf, or tell you not to buy anything at all, because that was the right answer.
  • Every product link carries the date it was last checked. Products get discontinued and reformulated. If a link is stale, the date tells you so.

Where the disclosure appears

Any page carrying affiliate links says so at the top of the article, above anything you could act on. That placement is deliberate — the Federal Trade Commission’s guidance is that a disclosure has to sit close to the recommendation, and a notice buried in the footer does not satisfy it.

What we do not do

  • We do not accept payment for a positive review.
  • We do not publish sponsored posts dressed up as editorial.
  • We do not recommend a product we would not use, or would not tell a friend to use.
